The display provides 3 Interfaces: parallel (4 bit and 8 bit) and also serial SPI and I²C bus. It is 3.3V compatible and includes 3 different character sets: the classic one for English and Japanese, an European and a cyrillic one.

It is readable with and without backlight. ELECTRONIC ASSEMBLY holds the backlight colors white, amber and bi-color red/green at stock. Via external circuit it is possible to swith off or dim the bakcklight brightness.
